Harley Party and Skateboard Tour

A long week of exploring Manhattan below Houston St and East of Greene culminated last night in a long circuit. Skated from Greenpoint, my home, over to Williamsburg. Down by the East River I shared a couple of Polish beers and watched the sun set over Manhattan with Haley. Then I took off to meet the boys. Skated across the Williamsburg Bridge, which was an adventure - you can haul ass down that sucker. After a little tour through the potholed streets of the Lower East, ended up at the Etnies showroom for a party sponsored by Harley Davidson. I went for the photo exhibit by Ed Templeton, some sort of reportage B/W deal from a motorbike road trip. Cool if not exactly mindblowing - then again you couldn't really check out the photos due to the breakdancing, posing and wall to wall pack of cool kids. My boy Mike had his whiskey splashed all over by an errant douche bag elbow, so we shredded off to some extra dope late night Thai spot to sober up before the long push back to Brooklyn and a quick stop into the Union Pool. Pretty much the perfect skateboard tour of the city.

All that happened with no camera, time off after I shot the band Motion City Soundtrack earlier in the day. It'll be in Alt Press later in the summer. The shoot was pretty much uneventful, but here's a polaroid from it anyway.

I'm off to Santa Cruz, California tomorrow for a week. 2 days shooting and hopefully a few days of surfing in the middle.
