X Games

Oh boy. Been working my little tail off. For ESPN, newschoolers.com (GALLERY to come) and snowboarder.com (GALLERY). And even more importantly, dancing 'til I can't walk (or maybe that's 'cause I was carrying so much junk around with me?)

There's a lot of negativity around a certain part of the X Games, but my experience is this: beautiful weather (artistically if not perfect for standing around waiting for TV...), amazing athletic performances, dramatic pressure filled situations (with cash on the line well beyond the prize money), friends, experiences and more. I have fun every time I go to Aspen, and I appreciate the whole experience of the X Games. I wish Riley and Tinka could have been there, but they were on all of our minds the whole time... Anyhoo, thanks to everyone I did see, who chucked their meat, who kept me company, who cut a rug, etc.: Amy, Schmuck, Rogge, Adryan, Flip, Pondella, the brothers Morning, Pete and Mike, Simon, Sammy, Hudak, Grete, Sarah (get better soon), Cody, Fish, Scotty, Kevin, Mason, T, Bobby Brown, Ryan, KR, Byrnes, Strokes, Murray, HH, Tess, Stifter, Jon and Jess, Sheezy, Harvey, Sabreen, Tess, A Place to Bury Strangers (who, I think, were a little lost on the crowd but I effing loved...a band's place is MySpace), Santogold, Meg (nice pants), Henrik, Betts and French, and everyone else who'd make this list more ridiculously long than it already is... XOXO

Strength.

Like all of you, my thoughts are with Riley Poor, his family and his friends. Since I met him, long ago, he's always been creative, driven, strong and special to all of us, and as quickly as things can change, those qualities will not.

Riley, working.

Riley's work (along with Simon and Blake.)

Catching up from Fall / the Bachelor Party.

Instead of strippers, to this bachelor party for Ryan Baines, we invited a youth hockey team. We golfed. We went to Charcoal Burger (obvi). We stayed at the Sky. Ian drove Timmy around with the four wheeler at Buck's place. Ryan Gaul got a Vans Rad, the movie, model shoe print on his tummy to go with more than a few hand prints on his back. Gaul used a straw to breathe underwater, while Baines was wicked creepy in the hot tub with the youth hockey boys. We definitely wore the robes provided by the Sky.

You will not see pictures of me trying to hit my golf ball out of the lake. Or of me falling into said lake. Or any other pictures of me. You will not see Baines, the aforementioned bachelor, doing shots or falling down. You will not see us eating at New York Pizza (which has slices which do not taste nearly as good as they do in New York, BTW) any of the three times we went. You will not see any photographs from the rest of the night.

You will see Baines, Ian and Wink comfortably sharing their bed.

Read. Look.

Nothing for me to add.
